Every day I receive wonderful feedback and exciting questions about my Demeter natural cosmetics. I am delighted by the many enthusiastic messages and loyal users, and in this blog post, I would like to provide some answers to questions and myths surrounding my grapeseed oil skincare.
Are the products organic certified?
All my products are certified by Austria Bio-Garantie and Demeter and significantly exceed the requirements for organic cosmetics. They exclusively contain biodynamic and organic active ingredients and completely forgo artificial fragrances and preservatives as well as critical excipients.
Demeter is considered the oldest and one of the strictest certifications for biodynamic products worldwide. Due to the strict requirements for natural cosmetics regarding the active ingredient content of products, permitted auxiliary materials, processing, and packaging, etc., only a few natural cosmetic brands carry the orange seal.
How long do the products last?
All my products have a best-before date (BBD) printed on them, indicating how long they can be stored in their original sealed condition. However, most products last longer, and you can tell if they are still "good," similar to food, by their smell. Since I do not use artificial preservatives, you should use your grapeseed oil skincare within 4 months once opened.
How do I get the last bit out of the bottle?
Waste nothing! To get the last bit of your Demeter natural cosmetics, unscrew the glass dispenser and spray a few pumps of tonic (or a few drops of water) into the dispenser. Then you can close the cleanser or natural cosmetic face care again, shake it, and use it up completely, getting every last bit of your care.
Is organic cosmetics effective?
Effectiveness and tolerability are paramount in my product development. To achieve a particularly high concentration of biodynamic active ingredients, I consistently avoid all fillers, and even a few drops or a small amount effectively and sustainably nourish your skin.
Why do the products contain ethanol?
For me, ethanol is the most natural form of preservation. This allows me to completely do without synthetic preservatives from the lab. Since I only use pure, undenatured Demeter ethanol in a very low concentration, it evaporates quickly and does not dry out the skin.
Does alcohol in the skincare dry out the skin?
Depending on whether and in what quantity alcohol was used, it can negatively affect your skin. Therefore, in my products, I only use pure, undenatured ethanol in a very low concentration, exclusively for preservation. This way, it evaporates quickly, leaves no residue, and does not dry out the skin.
Are the creams day or night creams?
My grapeseed oil face cares are 24-hour cares, meaning you can use them both in the morning and in the evening. It's best to listen to your skin – you might need a different grapeseed oil skincare in winter than in summer.
How do I apply the serum correctly?
With my serums, you can boost your normal facial care and counteract signs of skin aging. Depending on your needs, you can apply them to cleansed skin in the morning and/or evening before your facial care and gently pat them in. Due to their light texture, the serums can quickly penetrate your skin, and you can apply your facial care immediately afterward.

Are the creams suitable for sensitive skin?
Unlike many care products from other manufacturers, I only use natural ingredients for my Demeter natural cosmetics and exclusively excipients that have no proven negative impact on your skin and the environment.
I completely forgo synthetic preservatives, and the fragrance in my cares comes exclusively from essential organic oils. This keeps the ingredient lists short, and my grapeseed oil skincare is also suitable for sensitive skin.
What is the best thing to do with empty packaging?
All my organic grape cosmetic products are filled in recyclable packaging such as glass, aluminum, or RePET – for the shower, due to the risk of injury.
As a family business, it is unfortunately not logistically possible for me to establish my own recycling system. Therefore, many users find alternative uses for the beautiful bottles after use – for example, some keep the jar as a "mask bowl" and mix my peeling mask in it. But the cleaned bottles are also used as dispensers or for storing spices, oils, etc. in the kitchen.
If you have no use for them, you can also simply dispose of the jars and tubes with your glass or aluminum waste. This way, they are fed into the material cycle and reused.
Can you visit the Nikolaihof?
Yes, you can visit the Nikolaihof almost all year round. Our tasting room "Salon 77" is open almost every week from Wednesday to Friday (You can find the exact opening hours here).
In the wonderful ambience, surrounded by ancient walls and the 350-year-old tree press, you can not only get to know the excellent wines from Nikolaihof Wachau but also discover Wachau delicacies, cookbooks, and of course my Demeter natural cosmetics. Between May and November, our wine tavern is also open, where you can also enjoy culinary delights. In any case, you should ask during your visit if you can take a look at our wine cellar!

What's with the colors?
My products are as colorful as life – but the colors also have a very practical background. For example, my pink line for body and face is especially recommended for dry skin and consists of rich care products. The blue line, on the other hand, is more for oily and combination skin and therefore consists of lighter care products, and yellow is for particularly sensitive or irritated skin.
All additional products with which you can further boost your care – such as serums, tonics, or peelings – have been given a golden color and are suitable for all skin types.
